The SLATE Conference is an annual event presented by the Midwest Blackboard Users Group and hosted by the University of Chicago. This conference invites all faculty, system administrators, CIO's, Web developers, librarians, students, and user support staff from institutions that are deploying and/or currently using Web-based tools, specifically Blackboard or WebCT, in their teaching and learning. Recognizing that deployment issues, support concerns. teaching strategies, learning styles, etc. are common among the varied CMS/LMS clients, everyone is welcome.

Almost 175 attendees from 40 institutions, from across the country, participated in last year's conference.

This year will be the sixth annual SLATE Conference. So come join us this year to:

• Share ideas and learn more about what other institutions are doing
• Discuss best practices and implementation strategies
• Discuss pedagogical and learning issues
• Choose from over thirty different sessions in five unique topic areas
• Create a dialogue between K-12 and Higher Ed institutions
• Hear about the latest product releases and services
• Engage in Q&A with representatives from Blackboard and WebCT
• Have direct contact with Building Blocks development partners
• Take an evening to unwind and socialize at the pre-conference reception

One of the many goals of this conference is to provide a forum where all participants are able to connect, gather new ideas, and find opporutnities for future collaboration. It is because of you, the people who participate, that this conference has been such a success over the years. We look forward to seeing you.
